クマゲラを探せ！

森を歩く時はいつもクマゲラに会えたらいいなぁと思いながら歩いています。たまに願いがかなって「キョーン、キョーン」「キロキロキロキロキロ」と、クマゲラの鳴き声が聞こえたら鬼ごっこスタート！

近くの木にとまったらチャンスです。くれぐれも驚かさないように、絶対に近づきすぎないように。エサを探し始めると食事に夢中になって少しだけ隙をみせてくれます。そうしたら食事の邪魔をしないようにそっと近づいてみましょう。

Whenever I walk through the forest, I’m always hoping for a chance encounter with a Black Woodpecker. Every now and then, if luck is on my side, I’ll hear that distinct call—“Kyon, kyon” or “Kilo-kilo-kilo-kilo”—and the game of tag is officially on!

If you spot one landing on a nearby tree to forage, that’s your moment. Just take it easy: never startle them, and absolutely never crowd the bird. Once they lock onto a food source, they get completely absorbed in feeding and let their guard down just a fraction. That’s your cue to slip in quietly for a closer look.
